In my search for a lightweight hiking shoe that covers the ankles and is comfortable to wear in summer temperatures, I ended up with the ZAQQ ROQQ Trail. I had previously tried out shoes from other suppliers, but I couldn't find the right shoe.
I ordered it in size 47, my "normal" size is 45, I have the feeling that my feet need more room after about two years of barefoot shoes.
The delivery was prompt. I'm always surprised at how fast it is, as I live in Switzerland. My first thought when trying them out was "slip them on and feel good", just as a shoe should be.
The shoe is light, very comfortable and fits snugly around my feet. Over the last two months, I have tested it extensively, whether on a hike in the Chiemgau Alps, in the interior of Portugal or here in Switzerland. Nothing pinches or restricts the feet, it is non-slip and very comfortable to wear in summer temperatures.
I feel secure in my shoes. I make a double knot when lacing, otherwise the knot tends to come undone. They are not waterproof, which is not possible with the material. The shoe is easy to care for, a brush or damp cloth is usually enough. A waterproofing spray protects against damp meadows, but not for hours and hours.
It may sound strange - I'm happy every time I put the shoes on.
Conclusion: I would buy the ROQQ Trail Black again.
